Prof. Dr. Syed Atiqul Haq

Prof. Dr. Syed Atiqul Haq is a pioneering Rheumatologist in Dhaka with a career spanning over 30 years. He earned his MBBS and FCPS in Medicine before obtaining an MD in Rheumatology and a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. He previously served as Chairman and Professor of Rheumatology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), where he played a key role in establishing the department.

Currently, he is the Chief Consultant at Green Life Center for Rheumatic Care and Research, one of the leading facilities for rheumatic diseases in Bangladesh. He is also the President of the Bangladesh Rheumatology Society and the founder of the COPCORD study in Bangladesh. His research interests include epidemiology of rheumatic disorders, knee osteoarthritis, and SLE. He has received international recognition, including the International Fellowship of the American College of Rheumatology.
